Amulya Malladi Hogwarts, of course. And when I get there I'd let to go up one of those towers, take a broom, fly and be up to no good.
Amulya Malladi Thank you for your question. Arranged marriage is a theme in some of my novels - however, neither my parents nor I have had an arranged marriage. My husband is Danish.
Amulya Malladi Hi Avishek, There are always sources of inspiration. The current book my agent is shopping around is about surrogacy and that came to be based on a news story I saw on BBC about a British couple using an Indian surrogate.

Usually, my inspiration is a question. What happens when? What happens when you try to commit suicide and live - what happens to your family? (Serving Crazy with Curry)

These days I am also painting and since I am new to it and I get inspired by other painters, by photographs...something I feel.
Amulya Malladi Thanks, ReGina.

I didn't decide on the exoticness of the food - Devi sort of did. I think she wanted to get away from the normal and find new ways of cooking as she struggled get away from her "normal" life (read as messed up) to something new post-suicide attempt.

I didn't cook much until I wrote this book. I learnt to cook with Devi and since we were living in Denmark the fusion aspect of it came alive organically. And, yes, I have tried all the recipes. The prawn biriyani is a favorite and staple in our house.

Here is a blog where I write about this: https://authoramulya.wordpress.com/20...
Amulya Malladi The freedom to create worlds and grow in ways you didn't think possible.
Amulya Malladi Writing is very important because you can't edit an empty page. Now that you have written something - edit, edit, edit, edit, edit...

Like Hemingway said, "the first draft of everything is crap."
Amulya Malladi I am working on a book based on the 16 December 2012 rape of Jyoti Singh in Delhi.
Amulya Malladi I have been writing since I was 11 years old. I actually cannot remember why or how I started to write. It's just something I have always done.
Amulya Malladi Oh boy, this is never clear. Though, the recent, recent book that is now out and about with editors is about surrogacy and I got the idea from a BBC news story about a surrogate clinic in Gujarat and a British couple using the clinic to have their baby.
