Bryce Warren I listen to a lot of music, and I draw quite a lot to stir the creative juices. Reading helps too.
Bryce Warren It's what I've always wanted to do, ever since I was 13 years old and read Stephen King's The Stand. I thought, if you can write books like that for a living, then that's what I want to do. I am happiest when I am writing.
Bryce Warren Read as much as you can. Find what inspires you to write. Write as often as you can. Don't give up.
Bryce Warren I am working on an idea that deals with the government and the occult.
Bryce Warren I have been listening to Coast to Coast AM podcasts of highlights from the radio show about all kinds of supernatural and unexplained phenomena. Sometimes an idea will develop from the stories I listen to on that show. Also, I draw a lot before I start writing. It's another way of telling a story or getting creative.
Bryce Warren I went to see the movie The Quiet Ones because of the premise: a group of people trying to create an entity. The movie started out promising, and then halfway through they dropped the ball. The movie descended into cliches and copied aspects of other horror movies, leaving me disappointed. I kept thinking it would be great to write about a group of people who successfully create an entity. What would happen if it worked? That's when I began writing THE WRETCHED.
