Hi Marcelina, I'm so glad you enjoyed the books, thank you for letting me know! It's hard to say who is my favorite, they all become kind of like my kids and I love them all. But Isabel is the one who started it all so I'd probably go with her. Thanks again for reading!! I have other books and friendship and family you may like - there's another trilogy that starts off with My Secret Guide to Paris. And a duology that starts out with See You on a Starry Night. Happy holidays! Hope you spend some time over break doing one of my favorite things - reading!

Hi Supritha, thanks for reading MY SECRET GUIDE TO PARIS, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, at the time, I hadn't been to Paris yet but I thought it would be fun to visit in my imagination. So I read travel blogs, checked out books, both fiction and non-fiction that helped give me a good picture of Paris in my mind, got a map of Paris, and also roamed the streets using Google Earth. It's fun learning about a new place! Since I wrote the book, I've visited and I LOVED it and can't wait to go back someday. Thanks again for reading and for your great question.

Cool! I hope you liked it! There are two other "sweet treat" books - It's Raining Cupcakes and Sprinkles and Secrets. :)
I tried a new chocolate chip cookie recipe and they turned out really well!

Hi Quinn, I love baking too! I'm making some bread right now for our dinner tonight. I made cookies earlier in the week. What's your favorite thing to bake? Did you read It's Raining Cupcakes? Just wondering if that's why you asked? :)

Hi Lupe, thanks for reading MY SECRET GUIDE TO PARIS. I'm so glad you are enjoying it. I have a bunch of stuff about me on my web site: www.lisaschroederbooks.com. There's an "About Lisa" page that should help with your project. Just read through it slowly, write down things you find interesting, and I'm sure you can figure out how to include them in your report.
My first published book was a picture book called BABY CAN'T SLEEP. It's out of print now - it was published back in 2005. As for what genre I like writing the most, I like realistic fiction, which is what most of my books are.
Thanks again for reading my book. Good luck with your report!

Hi Larissa, I don't usually like to answer homework type questions like this, but I do think questions about theme are hard. As authors, we don't always think about "theme" as we write, but most times, a theme does generally rise to the surface. I think the theme of this book is kindness and connection, mainly that kindness and making a connection with someone can often make a bigger difference than we ever imagined. What do you think?

I've published 20 books so far, that includes a couple of picture books and novels for kids and teens. I've been writing all of my life but I started writing seriously in 2001, so 18 years ago. You can find more about me at my web site: lisaschroederbooks.com. Thanks and good luck on your report!

Hi Michelle, you didn't specify which series, exactly, and I have a few different ones. The cupcake series came about because I loved to bake when I was a kid (still do, actually) and I thought it would be fun to set a book in or around a cupcake shop. The Charmed Life series came about with the help of my editor who wanted a series about girls at camp who pass around a sort of magic bracelet. And the travel series was a result of me wanting to go to Paris and London REALLY badly but I couldn't afford to go at the time so I thought, well, I write a book and visit Paris every day in my imagination. I've since gone to Paris and I loved it just as much as I thought I would. Next year I finally get to visit London! Thanks!

Hi Scott, I'm not sure, exactly. I think it might be because the content in WISH ALL OF THE STARS is timely with some things going on in the world and so the audio division of Scholastic wanted it accessible to as many kids as possible. Although it is a sequel, it stands very well on its own, so kids can just read the second one and be fine. Thanks!

(view spoiler)[I absolutely loved reading All We Have Is Now, It's so heartwarming and has a strong message. Are you going to make a sequel or a second book? (hide spoiler)]

Hi Meera, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thanks for letting me know! Some people were not happy with how I ended it - they wanted more. Sounds like you do too, in the way of a sequel, and as of right now, there are no plans for that. I'm sorry if that disappoints you but hopefully you can use your imagination to determine what happens next. Thanks for the question and thanks SO much for reading my book!! Best wishes, Lisa

Hi Celina, Thank you for reading them! It made sense to me to follow up My Secret Guide to Paris with a book set in London featuring Phoebe. I wanted another mystery or treasure hunt, of sorts, and because her dad was an antiques dealer, I thought it would be cool if Phoebe found an old letter in a vintage piece. I still think it's pretty amazing that London managed to send a million children away to help protect them during World War II. So I think it was just thinking about something that might be relevant to Phoebe somehow. Lots of brainstorming involved for sure. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thanks again for reading!

Hi Alexis, Sadly, I don't make those decisions. For a book to be published in a different language, a publisher has to pay for the rights to translate the book. Sorry I don't have better news. Thanks for reading my books!
Lisa Schroeder
Hi Alexis, thanks for the question. It's kind of a hard one to answer because our books are a little like children in that each one has a special place in our hearts. But I think I'm going to say the one that comes out in June - SEE YOU ON A STARRY NIGHT. It's probably the most personal book I've written yet - I drew a lot on my childhood for this one.

Hi Raylin, It's hard to answer your questions because I've written over 15 books. Which one are you wanting to know about? If you would give me the title, that would help a lot, rather than just saying "the book."
Thanks!
Lisa
Thanks!

Hi Grace, thanks for reaching out and wanting to read one of my books. It's a great question - I think a good one to start with is THE DAY BEFORE. It takes place over 24 hours, it's not super sad like some of my other ones, and it is a good one to try if you've never read verse before and want to see if it's for you. Happy reading!

Hi again Emily, yes that is true. I had a dream about a girl who had a boyfriend who died but didn't want to leave her. I woke up with a strong sense of love and went to my computer and started writing a different kind of ghost story. It's ultimately a story of love, loss, healing and hope, and I'm so glad so many readers have enjoyed that book. Thank you for reading!

Hi Emily, I'm so glad you are enjoying FAR FROM YOU. Thanks for letting me know. This book was partly inspired by a true story that happened in the news a number of years back. A family was traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and due to a snow storm, they took some backroads and got lost. Their family didn't know what had happened to them, and everyone was really worried about them. If you'd like to read more about the true life events, you can google "Kim tragedy in the Oregon wilderness." My story has different elements and a different ending, of course. I had also always wanted to write a character who was a singer/songwriter, so that came into play, along with Alice in Wonderland elements, which was another thing I'd had in the back of my mind. Happy reading!!

Thanks for letting me know! All We Have is Now has had such a wide-range of reactions from readers, I'm glad to hear from someone who really enjoyed it. :)

Hi there, thanks for the question and for reading my sweet treat books!
Unfortunately, there won't be anymore books in that series. These decisions aren't always up to the author. So many other cupcake books came out after mine did that the shelves were kind of inundated with them, and so it was time for me to move on and find some new things to write about.
I've written some other fun series about friendship and family that you might want to check out. The CHARMED LIFE series is about four girls who meet at summer camp and think they've found a lucky bracelet, and they take turns sharing it and writing to each other about the things that are happening with it. And I'm now writing and publishing a sort of travel trilogy, about girls having fun adventures around big cities. MY SECRET GUIDE TO PARIS is the first book and the second book just came out called SEALED WITH A SECRET, which takes place in London.
Thanks again,
Lisa

Hi Abby, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and if you told your friend about the book, thank you!! Telling friends about books you like is one of the best things you can do for an author.
I don't have a sequel planned and since sales haven't been that great, I don't think my publisher would support one even if I did try to write one. But thank you for wanting to read more about Vince and Emerson. That means I did my job as an author and got you to care about them. :)
