Inspiration can come anytime from anywhere. For example watching the intro to the series The Crown of the crown coming into form and then talking to my wife about something she read about a woman's experience and finding out how her role is past lives has led to her current situation - gave me a rough idea for a two pronged story which merge into one. Ideas just come. If they don't go away then I write them down. If they are inspiring enough then I write the outline and that becomes my next book.

Start writing and never give up. Do not aim for perfection but for completion.

I love writing because I can develop characters and get inside their heads. It is exciting to see how stories develop and characters react, sometimes surprising me.

Never have it. I simply keep writing. If I get stuck then I will either write further and go back or work on something else and come back later. I find that ideas flow and stories develop as I write. I recently started to write an outline - a few sentences to summarise each chapter. This really helps to quickly get an over view of the sort. Then I also have a guide to flesh out the story.

A dream starts Hilda on a quest to grasp the abuse she has suffered since she was a child. A hypnotherapist session reveals, instead of explaining the dream, her life as a French man in 18th century Paris. Her life takes a turn as chance meetings, her own past and her pasts lives bring first turmoil before they begin to make sense. Hilda finds herself on a road of discovery of who she really is and that her past does not define her.

Very interesting story it seems. Mine has similarities but a very different story, delving into pre-history, abuse, law of attraction, intuition, doubt, and who knows what else. It is still in the early chapters and the story is developing fast. It is based in Northern Ireland, my homeland. ...more

The inspiration comes from an unusual incident, and strange place or even a dream. Anything which stands out and gets my attention can end up inspiring the next story.
