The EVE universe is where I would go. The EVE books were really addicting for me. I took them with me on deployment when I was in the military. The Burning Life was my favorite, it really kept me grounded while I was overseas.

This is a tough one. I want to re-read some of the old Timothy Zahn novels (big sci-fi novel fan), but I've stumbled across an author that I had never heard of and after reading a sample I'm planning on reading the entire series of House Adamant (hopefully the 4th book is published by this summer). My go to summer books list if I can't find anything is Frank Herbert (cliche, I know).
