Carrie Thomas I am currently editing Dream Girls: Nicole. Hopefully, I'll have that baby out by June. That will finish a series and it's off to another. My other works in progress are Eli's book, which is the follow up to Hooked. Also, a fresh young adult book that is still un-titled that will follow Abram and Sophia in their journey for love. <3
Carrie Thomas Don't give up. There have been many times in my journey that I questioned myself. Self-doubt is normal. There is something to be said about pushing through. If you have a passion for writing, don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it, or make you feel less than who you are. Not everyone will connect with your work, but someone WILL! Read as much as you can. Other's will inspire you. :)
Carrie Thomas The best thing about being a writer is reading that review, email, tweet, or Facebook message where someone loved your work. It is pure bliss knowing that something I wrote connected with someone. I'm a reader myself, so when I connect with a book, I feel like I know the author personally. For someone to feel that way about me is awesome!
Carrie Thomas I read. Finding a good book always takes my mind off of what I'm doing. I get lost in someone else's world.
Carrie Thomas Everything inspires me. Music is a huge influence in my writing. I'm obsessed with the fact that someone can tell a story with only a few lyrics. I read all the time. All the time. :) My kids, television--everything around me inspires me.
Carrie Thomas The book I'm currently working on is a Young Adult novel about a 17 yro guy, named Abram living and dealing with the cruel world of foster care. He's found a way out of the abuse he's suffered for years and is finally about to be free. That is until he comes home one night to discover that his cruel, vial foster parents have kidnapped a young girl and are holding her in their basement. He can't leave her in their care, but he has to get out. The only problem...she was hit so hard in the head when they took her that she can't remember who she is.
This is a journey of breaking free from the life you were dealt and making it what you want it to be. Hardship creates a bond between two young adults that can never be broken.
