Hi Ted! Sorry, just now seeing this! Thank you so much for your kind words, you truly made my night. I will never stop writing poetry. I have two more books in the works right now, but to be honest it will be a while before I have them completed. I've had writer's block for quite some time now, but I think the veil is finally starting to lift. Thanks again man.

I often experience elaborate fabrications of memory, where memory gets confused with past dreams and notions of deja vu.... I've often entertained the idea of these delusional memories being memories of being a fetus dreaming in the womb.... experiencing premonitions of life. I wrote about these "dreams in the womb" in one of my earlier poems, called "A Dying Breed" (Intrinsic Desires, 2007) in which a vampire "remembers his dreams in the womb". Hence the phrase was coined.

Many things can inspire me and trigger the urge to write... another writer's writing, a painting or image, but more often the wispy autumn weather, the memory of a high school crush, a dream that begs to be remembered somehow. It all depends, you never know what might incite the urge. I get ideas from everywhere.

There is a part of me that, naturally, wants to be monetarily successful and financially stable from my writing. That is a good dream, but highly unlikely. But even that dream is more about the principle of the thing, rather than the money itself. It is a status symbol, in some regard.
Another part of me wants to be "internet famous"... which, these days, is kind of equivalent to having what is known as a "cult following". I do not wish to be world famous or to become a popular household name, but it would admittedly be nice to have a somewhat modest following of people who are interested in and will follow my works. I want to touch the minds of more people, and to achieve that is akin to being "famous", in a sense, though it is a bit different and more simplistic and honest in a way.
And yet, the biggest part of me, perhaps, just wants to touch the minds of a select few people. To really resonate strongly with even one or two people as a writer is, in truth, the greatest gift to me as a writer. Even with that I know that I have succeeded as a writer and an artist.

Yes, at times, truth is indeed stranger than fiction. In fact, as you already know, a lot of fiction comes from truth... only "the names have been changed to protect the innocent", etc. You get the idea.
When I was a young child, my dad worked on top secret projects for the military he was not allowed to discuss in detail with us. I have an uncle on my mom's side who claims to have strange memories of being abducted by aliens. I, myself, have had questionable memories I cannot explain or attribute to any specific time period in my life.
The world is a very strange place. Even proven methods of science, like the laws of gravity, seem like some strange force of magic when you really stop to think about them. I still think CD's and vinyl records are strange... to think that musical sound is "trapped" on a disc made of vinyl or some other simple material, and can be "released" when spun on a device... how very strange! But we take such things for granted daily.

Don't be afraid of new ideas. Don't be afraid to draw inspiration from just about anything in life (or in fiction). There will be ideas you will be afraid to write because of your job or because of what your family might think... If your heart is calling for it, write it anyway; even if you don't release it yet.
There will be ideas that come to you, perhaps even in a dream, that might seem unconventional to you or "not your usual style". Experiment with them anyways... just start it and see where it goes. You never know what it might turn in to... Later on you might think, "Wow, I'm really glad I came up with that. It was a good direction to go in."

You can create your own ideas and worlds, and then escape into them at almost any time. When you get into a bad mood, or are thinking stressful or negative thoughts, you can pick up a book or reread a poem or story that you created and then 1.) feel a sense of escape that you would feel from reading any book, only it is customized and suited for your own personal tastes, and 2.) feel a sense of pride and accomplishment by immersing yourself in something that you, yourself, created and achieved.

Every time an idea for a poem or a line comes to me randomly, I scribble it down on a notepad beside my bed or jot it down in my iPad so I don't forget it later. This way, whenever I sit down to write I have a plethora of varied fragments to choose from, and I can just pick one that fits my mood or fancy and then start expanding on it.
I also have several pieces going on at once... I never feel obligated to work on any one particular piece when I'm not "feeling it" at the moment; I can always "jump around" at will. This keeps me from feeling forced or limited... instead of trying to narrow my focus down, I just feed my ADD-tendencies by supplying any whim, and the book gradually comes together overall.

I currently have three individual projects underway. I have two more collections of poetry and (mostly) prose going on at once... one is a collection of entirely romantic prose and quotes which will be marketed as such, and the other is a collection of predominantly darker or miscellaneous works that don't quite fit the romantic theme.
My third project is a coloring book for kids that features my original dinosaur illustrations... this will be my first children's book project, which I will market separately and will not allow to compromise the integrity or style of my mature works in any way.
