Rosemary Smith Tiny Bones came to me because of the house. It was built over a hundred years ago from slave brick and local wood. My husband and I fell in love with it in the '70's and tried to find the owners to ask if it was for sale. It was not. So I made up a story around the house.
Rosemary Smith I have no idea. Things fly around in my head all the time. I have to reach up and grab them and then play with them a while to decide if they are any good. I sometimes begin with a short story and see if it wants to grow bigger or not.
Rosemary Smith Write it down. Anything can be fixed or polished if it is on the paper but a blank page is never going to get you there.
Rosemary Smith I am working on a novel about a lady who went to a psychologist to get hypnotized to lose weight and finds herself regressing back to the 1880's.
I am at 46,500+ words and shooting for 50,000 so I am almost done. The basic story is finished but I am in that final refining and rewriting before sending it into my publisher. The problem is that rather than adding words, I seem to be deleting them more often. When I add them I am being very careful about whether it helps the story or not. I will get there. I have worked on this thing for three years now and I am ready to move on to whatever comes next. Actually.....that one is already started too. LOL
Rosemary Smith Hearing someone say," I really enjoyed your book."
Rosemary Smith I have never really had writers block. If I am not inclined to write on a particular day then it is usually because I have not worked out what I really need to say or how to handle a situation within the story. My way is to let it rest. I will figure it out and then I will sit down and more than make up for the lost time because the words flow more easily. If I try to force it then I usually mess it up and have to delete big chunks of whatever I stuck in there to make myself feel like I was doing SOMETHING.
