Matthew Farrell Hi Lori. Thanks for reading! DON'T EVER FORGET will be released August 2020. More info will come as we get closer to the pub date. Stay tuned!
Matthew Farrell Hi Terry. Thanks for reading WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. I'm glad you liked it. Winter Hill was a self-published book that is no longer in print. It may be rereleased in the future, but for now I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Aug 6th when I KNOW EVERYTHING comes out. And thanks for being my library advocate!!

Matthew Farrell Hi Kelly. Happy to answer your question but would ask that you go to my website www.mfarrellwriter.com and pose the question in the Contact Me or Email Me field. I dont want to answer here and inadvertently spoil a twist. Thanks!!
Matthew Farrell In 25 years I've never had writer's block. If I had, I think I'd just write through it. As they say, you can always fix bad writing, but you can't fix blank pages.
Matthew Farrell For me, the best thing about being a writer is being able to detach from reality for a few hours a day and have control over a world I want to create. I also enjoy killing people in various ways (only on paper!). It's very cathartic.
Matthew Farrell Every writer tells aspiring writers not to stop writing. You know why? Because it's the best advice we can give. The only way to get better is to keep doing it. Any professional has years and/or decades of practice behind them. Writing is no different. Learn the craft, practice, study the market (professional writing is a business too), and keep submitting. It took me 25 years to get a book deal. Persistence is the key.
Matthew Farrell I'm about a week away from finishing the first draft of my latest thriller. More to come...
Matthew Farrell I was born with it. I can't explain it. I get an idea and it festers for a little while, and soon the compulsion to write is too strong to ignore. Once I start, I don't stop until the book is done. It's just the way I'm wired. Writing is always the best part of my day.
Matthew Farrell I've grown up in a police family and I know firsthand about that strong bond officers have. I also know about the bond family can have. I wanted to play those bonds against the backdrop of a murder where one person thinks the other is guilty and see if those bonds are strong enough to hold.
