The story is a composite of several years of my life as a teenager that I only have fragments in my memory; I wanted to fill in the gaps with conversations, and I wanted to imagine "what-if" into other parts. I wanted to write the words that I wish someone would have said to me.

Write. Write. Write. Read. Read. Read. I really think you have to finish something. Starting, for me, is not the hard part. Ending is what's challenging. Finishing.

Being in the flow. When you finish writing (for the day) and then go back to it the next day to read what you wrote and like it but almost don't remember writing it -- surreal and beautiful.
