Ireland in 1912 during the maiden voyage of the Titanic. My latest book, TIMING THE TIDES takes place here and I often wonder what it would have been like seeing the ship for the first time, the excitement of traveling to America in search of a new life.

For work/research for my next book in the TIDES series I'll be reading books about the RMS Queen Mary as the story takes place on the maiden voyage. For enjoyment I'll be reading "Worthy" by Nancy Levin, "The Three Reasons" by Beverly Adamo and "A Course in Miracles" by Dr. Helen Schucman.

I actually have TWO favorite fictional couples from two films that I can relate with quite a bit.
The first are Sara and Jonathon (played by Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack) from the film, Serendipity. I actually chose the title of my 5th book, It's Simply Serendipity because of this movie and how my life echoed their journey.
My second favorite fictional couple are Richard and Elise (played by Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour) in the film, Somewhere In Time. Again it was the connection I felt to their story.
My forthcoming book, TIMING THE TIDES can be portrayed as Titanic meets Somewhere In Time.

I don't really believe in writer's block. My creative mind is always working, so if I get stuck on a certain project, I just move on to something else. While writing PEARL, I would take breaks every now and then and write a screenplay as well. I currently have eight books in my head, so I'm not worried about running out of material anytime soon.

Having an outlet for all that's running around in my mind, and allowing my imagination to have a little bit of fun. I also love that I can write from anywhere, which means I can live anywhere. I choose to be close to the sea.

Write from your heart. Don't try to compare yourself to anyone else. Your style, what inspires you to write, how you write, it's all part of who YOU are and no one else.

My soul's sanctuary is the ocean and I visit as often as possible living in Santa Monica, California. My creative juices always seem to flow when I'm near the sea. The sound of the waves and smell of the salt water seems to energize me in a way nothing else does. It's my bliss.

My forthcoming book, PEARL due to release on November 8, 2015 is the sequel to my #1 International Bestseller, It's Simply Serendipity. I share my personal story of transformation from homelessness to published author, and the journey I took to live an authentic and purposeful life.
