I am trying to work through the ideas of how to complete the Tokens trilogy. I am also walking through sequels to "Amnesia" and "Snicks."

Often ideas come in dreams, which I jot down when I wake up (after telling my wife), but mostly it is in the everyday life where I see things, and think about how I would work it into a story--like hearing of someone's innermost desire being met, and coming up with a protagonist that could somehow detect that desire, and have the ability to grant it--and what the consequences of that may be.

When I first came up with the concept of these tokens you could trade in for visions of the future, I was tormented by several questions where I wanted some heavenly guidance (I did get the guidance, by the way, even without the tokens--see the epilogue for "Vision Tokens"). When I told my new wife about the idea (years before getting it down on paper), she shared her own desires where she could have used the tokens, including her own conversion story. Much of "Tokens of Faith" came from ideas she expressed from that time in her life.
