Richard Sain To borrow a phrase from Thomas Edison, writing is one percent inspiration and 99% perspiration. It is more a function of discipline and persistence. You just need to make writing a priority and sit down, no matter what kind of mood you are in, and get your thoughts on paper.

Richard Sain The creative arts allow you to express yourself in whatever media you choose. Writing allows me to create or recreate memories, feelings and imagery and weave those together with my own personal experiences and sense of humor to produce something meaningful and entertaining.
Richard Sain I try to write as often as possible. When I do my initial draft, I just start writing and am not too concerned about grammar or sentence structure. I just let my mind flow in whatever direction it wants to go. The important thing is to get your ideas written down. My next writing session, I read through and edit my initial draft. This allows my mind to get back on track and gets me back into my story allowing me to continue with my next initial draft.
