Stephen J. Semones I went to sleep and never, ever in my wildest dreams thought I'd wake up here. I hope someone hears me screaming from this coffin.
Stephen J. Semones Great question! There's a few fictional book worlds I'd love to go to.

Harry Potter: I'd love to be a wizard in this world. Going to Diagon Alley, picking out a wand, going to Hogwarts, using magic- it seems so much fun to me. The world that JK Rowling created was so deep that it just makes you want to go there.

Star Wars: I'd love to be a Jedi. Timothy Zahn brought such life to the Star Wars Universe in the 90's when everyone presumed it to be dead and gone. It was in this resurgence that I found the worlds and lore outside of the movies. So, I think it would be cool to be one of the new force users trained by Luke Skywalker.

Middle Earth: I'd love to visit Middle Earth. I don't think I'd like to visit during the great battles of the third age, but I'd dig walking through the Shire or visiting Minas Tirith or Rohan.
Stephen J. Semones I just finished Thrawn by Timothy Zahn. I'm now reading Guardians of the Whills. I love the Star Wars novels and universe, so I usually read those in between other works. But, to answer your question, here's a few of the books I plan to read over the summer:

Tripping Over Reality by my friend Christopher Schwartzlander

1984-- Still haven't read this one yet.

A Western Tale Part 2 by my friend Clint Blevins-- this one isn't out yet, but I'm hoping for an advanced copy because the first book was amazing

Salem's Lot by Stephen King-- I read this one around every two years. It's my favorite King book.

Those are three on my short list to read. However, I go to a lot of conventions and pick up books from other authors and have an obscene amount I need to start reading. Maybe I'll get to them one day.
Stephen J. Semones I keep writing. I don't get writer's block. I get down about something I've written, but the book isn't finished until the cover is attached, so there's always time to change something you're not happy with or don't like. If something doesn't fit, keep writing. It'll work itself out in the end.
Stephen J. Semones I pour my thoughts, ideas, beliefs, fears, wishes, fantasies, and soul onto a page. Being a writer is very intimate, as people see inside your mind. It's like opening up your heart and allowing people to look inside, to feel what you're feeling and see what you're thinking. To me, that's the best part.
Stephen J. Semones Just write. Writing makes you a writer. Daydreaming about writing does not. You either write or you don't. I'm frequently asked about how to get started writing. My answer is always the same: "Start with the first word."
Stephen J. Semones Currently, I'm working on a western-horror novel called "Vine in the Fire". I've also got a few other books I want to write as well. When I'm not writing, I plot out story ideas and fine-tune books I want to work on.
Stephen J. Semones I'm always inspired to write. I find inspiration everywhere.
Stephen J. Semones I get ideas all of the time. Some good, some bad. Usually, the best ideas come to me when I least expect them. The best thing I do is keep notes on my phone. Even if it's not a great idea, I always have it there for reference.

Sometimes I'll be watching something, or hear a specific piece of music, and a story will come to me. Ideas come from everywhere. The hardest part is sifting through the bad ideas and finding one that strikes me the most as something I want to put down on paper.
