William C. Tracy Yep! I use Notepad, Word, and Excel. I have several files with story ideas in them, and I usually end up with an Excel timeline on my larger stories to make sure I don't mess up days, especially if I have different POVs in different places.
My characters are the least plotted part of my writing. I let them grow organically as I write.
William C. Tracy Currently, I'm working on two more stories in the same universe as Tuning the Symphony. I hope to put these out later this year. The first one focuses on a group of merchants traveling between homeworlds and the second focuses on Origon and a new space-faring invention.
I'm also reworking an unrelated fantasy novel set in a land like the antebellum southern plantation culture of the US mixed with Babylonian themes.
William C. Tracy I have set times I write during the week. It's a job. I expect to be doing it, so that means during that time I write, or attend to writing business. Even if I only write 50 words, or if I edit away 500 words, it's still writing. If one project has me completely stymied, or I don't want to work on that one, I have other ideas I can switch to which might flow easier.
