In the beginning my grandson was my inspiration. I started writing children's books when He was only a year old. he's now almost eight. He was trying to grow a garden in pot on the pool deck. That's how Hayden's Garden came to my mind. He loves Halloween almost better than Christmas. Hayden's Halloween was inspired by that.
My adult novels show my love of history and winding a story around a time and place. Last year Pablo Escobar and the Columbian cartels were in the news. I knew that the cartels used to drop cocaine into the orange groves here in Florida and Blood Orange was written.
History needs to be written in a way that people can understand how it affected the people living it.

I don't. My writers block usually resolves itself at 3am when the next part of the story comes to me. The trouble is remembering it in the morning. But it lets me know that there is more of the story to write.
My problem is time without interruption. I'm on the board of a couple non-profits. I have my own publishing company, consult for another and have started to show other authors how to market their book better. On top of that I'm learning the technology for doing audio books.

The best thing is meeting all the wonderful creative authors out there. I belong to several writers groups and enjoy each one for different reasons.
I am thrill when I meet someone that has read one of my books and liked it. Then I know I'm doing a good job and pleasing my readers.

My advise is don't give up your day job. Write for the fun of it and if you get lucky, very lucky you will get to be the next best seller.

I'm currently working on book three in the Green Lady Inn series, Double Vision. The Inn is located in Salem Ma. and the owner of the Inn, Megan, has visions that help solve murders and other crimes. Her next door neighbors are quirky and lend a bit of humor. She met her husband in book one when he rescued her from a car bent on killing her.

I love history and finding out that cocaine was dropped by plane into the Florida Orange groves caught my attention. there was a lot of talk on the news about Pablo Escobar and the Columbian cartel he ran. I just had to write a story about it. It's a romance, a crime novel, a thriller and a cozy all rolled into one.
