The Dublin of James Joyce's DUBLINERS (1914). I would live there for a year and then decide whether I wanted to return to my Hackney world of now (I probably would)! For all the brilliant tensions, repressions and doubts expressed in DUBLINERS, there was too in that world a conviviality and connectedness that today's London dweller has lost.
