I hit The Wall in my faith journey in college and again at 30. It was painful and terribly disorienting. I didn't understand the work of the Spirit. As a psychologist I saw other Christ-followers go through this. Through experience and study I came to understand six stages of faith and how to get through The Wall with Jesus for spiritual renewal. Then when I hit The Wall again, later in life, it was totally different: I had great peace because I understood it was an invitation into new and greater intimacy with Jesus.

I was having lunch with Dallas Willard and he asked me if I had only one word to describe Jesus what would it be? His word was "relaxed." I need to learn to be more relaxed with the Lord Jesus in my life and ministry. I began studying, meditating, and living out Jesus' easy yoke.
