Ian Gough I would say I've always wanted to write but I never made the time, especially as I was a bit of a workaholic.

Once my job came to an end, I was at a bit of a loss and started filling in the time by writing. As is often the case a movie title inspired my first fantasy novel and so Lotan the Librarian was born.

From then on the ideas kept coming, and I've probably got enough material bubbling away to write another 10 or 20 novels.

I guess I just can't help myself.

Ian Gough I've been writing short stories for a while now, and I wanted to share some of my favorites in Little Voices.

It’s not unusual when I write for my characters to guide the direction of the story by taking on voices of their own. By that I mean, I write what I want them to do, and they moan and gripe about it until I give in and change it to what they want.

It’s why I decided to call this collection Little Voices. Not only because of the first story in the collection, but because of the characters, their developing personalities, and the choices they ultimately made.

I wanted to share them so enjoy could enjoy this magical, occasionally dark, often humorous, journey through the realms of fantasy.
Ian Gough Don't give up.

There are times when I've felt overwhelmed, and that my writing isn't good enough. There may well be readers who agree with that when they read my books (joking, I hope), but I write just the same.

Writing is a joy and holding a book or short story that you've written can be one of the most amazing things ever.

Keep writing even if it's only for you.
Ian Gough I have three novels in various states of being written. Two of them come from my existing fantasy universe where as the third is a hyperjump from fantasy into a madcap Sci-fi comedy.
Ian Gough Letting my imagination run free, and seeing where it takes me. There aren't many professions or hobbies that allow us to create something out of nothing.
