I am doing two things right now: (1) I am writing the first book in a new mystery series that takes place in Shanghai in the 1930s. The series projects 4-5 books; and, (2) I am researching and doing general background reading for the third Trace Austin suspense thriller I will write next.

Be persistent. Figure out your goals, stick to achieving them, and only deviate from them when you see a way to improve your end result or process. Do not be put off by the negative advice of anyone who has not themselves written.
