Shane Morgan Well, first I'd love to set time aside to read the "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" series by Jenny Han. Then I want to read "Hello, Sunshine" by Leila Howland, "Until it Fades" by K.A. Tucker, "Black Bird of the Gallows" by Meg Kasseland, and "Wish You Were Here" by Renee Carlino (love her!)
Shane Morgan You know, I don't really have a favorite couple. I like Marcus and El from Pretty in Black, Isabel and Varen from Nevermore, and Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. Each have their own complication that's frustrating but I love that they work it out and you can actually feel the love.
Shane Morgan Oh wow. That is interesting. Not sure who the HS English teacher is but he/she wouldn't have taught me because I'm not from Rhode Island, I'm from the Caribbean. Shane is a shortened version of my first name and Morgan is really my last name. There's another Shane Morgan on here that I only discovered after publishing my books, and for some reason their books keep coming under under my releases :) But it's cool to have found another RI author. Best of luck with your book. What genre?
P.S: I like Christina Shane. Not because I'm Shane Morgan lol
Shane Morgan Hey, Dany. Sure :)
Shane Morgan All of them, especially Impossibly Love! :)
Shane Morgan I started out writing young adult fantasy then drifted into contemporary romance when stories of love started to fill my head. I would love to write horror soon. I haven't read much in that genre either and I want to do that in the coming months, just to prepare the mood to write with that theme in mind. So yeah, maybe I'll have a horror story out in time for Halloween :)
Shane Morgan Branden. Definitely Branden from Impossibly Love. I wrote him with all the qualities I like in men and his character, more than the other guys I've come up with, is exactly the kind of guy I'd date. In fact, I actually have that guy in my life right now :)
Shane Morgan Thank you for taking the time.
I've been writing for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I would cut pictures out of magazines and make up these little plays, living out stories in my head. I've garnered quite a few unfinished books over the years and I finally got serious and decided to get into self-publishing two years ago. I have no regrets (except for not researching more when I first started, but I've learned a lot since 2012) and I really enjoy what I do.
Shane Morgan I stop writing for a while and read, watch movies, or listen music.
Shane Morgan To me, the best thing about being a writer is telling stories that I'd love to read or watch. If I can't find a book or a movie about something in particular, I'll go write about it. I think also, the best part of being a self-published writer is having a lot of creative freedom. I write on my own time and that's awesome :)
Shane Morgan That's a funny question because honestly, I still feel like an aspiring writer even though I have published six books now. I feel there's room to grow and improve my writing and until I'm 100% certain it's great, I don't think it's my place to offer advice to anyone, except to tell them never give up in spite of the odds.
Shane Morgan It's a secret. But I can say that I'm going back to my first love of YA Fantasy for a while.
Shane Morgan Music plays a huge part. I find indie songs or sometimes I get hooked to something mainstream. But usually when I write a new book there's always one artist or two that I use as soundtrack. Aside from music, there's always going for a drive and taking pictures. I like being in a calm, peaceful environment when I'm searching for ideas and I usually get them when I'm near the ocean or on a nature walk. Then there's always my dreams :) I find interesting ideas in them.
Shane Morgan For "Our Kind of Love", I had a dream about the plot. I really like Newport and have wanted to write a book set in the city entirely, so the dream was perfect. The characters, the storyline, everything is just as I've experienced it in my dream. I kid you not.
