Gareth Ward Hi, make sure your book is the very best it can be before you submit. Definitely get feedback from people beforehand, maybe get some feedback from an editor or assessor. It is super hard to get picked up by a publisher but whatever the result keep at it and keep persevering.
Gareth Ward Hi L, Thanks for asking. The initial spark was when the idea popped into my head that 'Sin' would make a great name for a character. I had decided to give the book a Victorian setting and was debating whether 'real' magic would be a part of the world. As a magician myself I was fascinated how Victorian magician's presented new science discovery's as magic and I decided to use science instead of magic. After that the story naturally gravitated towards being Steampunk. On a different note I have a new series launching this year, please sign up to my mailing list on www.garethwardauthor.com to get details as they are announced. Thanks, Gareth
Gareth Ward There are many great things about living in New Zealand, particularly where I live in Hawke's Bay. The people are friendly, the weather is great, the scenery is spectacular to mention just a few. The only down side is the earthquakes, which I find a bit scary.
Gareth Ward Hi Jessica,

It's great to hear that you loved the first two books. Thanks for letting me know. My intention is to write a third book in which Sin discovers the details of his mother's murder. It may be a couple of years away as I have the first in a brand new series coming out next year which I'm really excited about. I think if you liked Traitor you'll love the new series. If you go to my website garethwardauthor.com and sign up for the news letter you'll get more details as they come out.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact me.

Kind regards,

Gareth
Gareth Ward HI Beatrix,
Thanks for contacting me. I'm glad that you liked my books. The second one is quite creepy, intentionally so. Tonks is alive and well and sitting with me right now. Clockill is actually pronounced Clock-Kill so I think you are correct, although to be fair to your brother it does look like it should be pronounced clock-ill. When I was writing the book I experimented with Clockkill and Clock-Kill but neither looked correct. I am working on a new series at the moment but I also hope their will be a third book in the Traitor series. Thanks again for contacting me and please do tell all your friends to read my books :-)
Kind regards,
Gareth
Gareth Ward Hi Lyn, Thanks for contacting me. I'm so glad that your student is enjoying The Traitor and the Thief. I have written a sequel and it is with the publishers at the moment awaiting a decision. So, hopefully there will be more books in the series. I am happy to answer any questions you or your student have. You can contact me via the contact page on my website; http://garethwardauthor.com/
Kind regards,
Gareth
