My husband helped me develop the character. He spent countless hours helping me research and letting me bounce ideas off him. I wanted to do something that wasn't exactly the same story over an over. I wanted new creatures that most people don't know. Plus I wanted to tell my own story of Pandora. :)

Music. Sometimes I hear a song and I see a movie playing in my head. When that happens, I have to write what I see. I wrote an entire novel based on a single song. (That novel has not been published yet.) Music helps your brain open up. I used to listen to classical music whenever I studied. It helped me to retain more information. :)

I put whatever it is that I'm working on aside for a little while. Sometimes you just have to step away and let the characters find you when they're ready to finish the story.
