Jeffrey Blander My daughter is my inspiration. We like to use chalk, crayons, markers, and paint. Imagination is truly our canvas. Kindness, caring, goodness, and empathy our only margins.
Jeffrey Blander We are currently producing the video and audio books for Maisha and the Rainbow Tree. Also the translation into Swahili. Most excitedly, please stay tuned for the next adventure with Maisha and friends...
Jeffrey Blander I've dedicated one of my books to a dear friend who was a victim of 9/11. My 4th book, a picture book written with my daughter is dedicated to my mother who went to heaven when I was just 7 years old. Proceeds from each go to charitable causes. It has been a healing experience and something that words can never describe to have thousands of others meet my dear friend and mommy angel through my writing to keep their memories alive.
Jeffrey Blander Don't give up and ignore the haters. It takes courage to open your heart and soul for public consumption. Your voice and story matter. Be authentic and don't compromise.
Jeffrey Blander I get my inspiration from my elementary school aged daughter. She is an imaginative story teller, wonderful artist, and fearless explorer.
Jeffrey Blander I am biased and love Maisha's magical world. Where one can go to the "end of the rainbow slide' and visit "an enchanted place full of friendly faces and magical creatures." Also to be able to play with Lilly the Unicorn!
Jeffrey Blander Maisha and the Rainbow Tree was inspired by true events when a group of elementary school friends started to stage a protest at a 6 year old's birthday party to prevent a beloved tree from being taken down.

The journey to complete this book has been magical. Personally, it has provided closure and is a full circle moment with my mom, who went to heaven when I was a young boy. She had started, but never finished a beloved children's book project for me. Completing a similar project many years later with my daughter is truly extraordinary and a healing experience.
