My most recent book, A Charmed Life, was inspired by the stillbirth of my first child. I wanted to help others who haven't experienced such a loss understand more of what a couple goes through at that time and for the rest of their lives.

I find writing inspirations everywhere. News stories, songs, personal experiences -- everything can either make a good story or contains details that could enrich my writing. I try to soak in the details of my surroundings, the sights, sounds, smells, and then use them in my writing.

Right now I'm working on my second novel, which is a "companion" to my first novel, A Charmed Life. It's about the same characters, but goes into more depth. That's all I can say without giving too much away. :)

Think of yourself as a writer. I found that when I had the courage to call myself a writer, something shifted inside me. Believe in yourself! No one can write the way you can, so share your words with the world!

The best thing about being a writer is being able to get ideas out of my head and down on paper (or computer!). The need to write is very real and is essential to my happiness. If someone reads my work and relates to it, that's makes it all worthwhile.

Fortunately I haven't had to deal with writer's block very often. My time to write is limited, so I usually can't wait to sit down at my computer and get going! There are days when I'm feeling less creative than others, however, and on those days I find that if I give myself permission to write anything -- it doesn't have to be good -- then I'm on my way.
