Another adult novel. I am five chapters into it and I am not exactly sure what's happening in the middle of the story. I've got the beginning and I know where it's going in the end...just need a big chunk in the middle. This has never happened before. I always know the whole trip and pretty much have it mapped out. One thing about this book, I am fianlly writing about an environment I am very familiar with: radio. My main character is a radio news anchor...I bet my former colleagues can't wait to read this one!

Keep at it, no matter how bad you or others think about your efforts. If the mind is telling you to write, then write and don't stop. The more you do it, the better it gets...like anything else: practice practice practice.

Writing is like any art form: there is a resulting product that you can usually interact with in some way--touch, see, hear, taste, whatever. Nothing beats the feeling of holding your own book in your hands for the first time, fresh off the press, or seeing it downloaded on your electronic reading device...though the traditional format stil rules for me.Then the next best thing is to have lots and lots of other people read your work and like it.

I usually have the luxury of time so if there is any blockage I simply let it play out. I try to keep postings fresh on my blog and that's where the block will show itself every now and then. But I am a talkative type so it doesn't take much to get me started...but more to shut me up!
