Tara Mills From a variety of things. Sometimes it's current/world events, something I read in the news, even a song or movie can prompt an idea. My new release, Sweetest Taboo came from a discussion thread in my publisher's author group. We were discussing menage and I'd said I enjoy reading them but didn't know if I could ever write one. They challenged me to try. I'm quite happy with the result, though I think that'll be it for me.
Tara Mills A contemporary romance called In the Mood. I'm hoping to finish this story and have it out this spring.
Tara Mills I waste a lot of time on social media. Another thing I do when I'm blocked is go back over what I've written so far and edit it to death. Neither are helpful. The best way to get over writer's block, for me anyway, is to jump into something completely unrelated just to get the juices flowing again. This is how I end up with short stories and teasers.
Tara Mills I can skip the make-up, run around in my jammie bottoms and big t-shirts. Let my imagination soar. So many positives.
Tara Mills Read, read, read. I can't stress that enough. Don't just read for enjoyment. Read to learn from other writers. Read outside your genre - both fiction and non-fiction. Always strive to improve over your latest work. You aren't in competition with anyone else. This is a personal journey. Push yourself to exceed and develop your talent. Love what you're doing.
