The original catalyst for the non-fiction book I'm exploring at the moment was a Pro Seminar I delivered for Marketing Profs on the topic of Future-Proof SEO. In that I touched on the themes of relevance, adding value and how search, content and social media were becoming inextricably linked in the quest for "findablilty".
I wrote about a similar topic in a blog post about a year later and it seemed to resonate with people. I approached a publishing contact with the idea and I'm currently discussing the book with a leading UK publisher.

I don't know really -- inspiration is all around us, all the time. Little things trigger thoughts and ideas... the best ones linger, and provoke further thought. Eventually I just feel compelled to write stuff down.

If I'm struggling with something I usually go for a walk. I'm mad about wildlife (I run the Ireland's Wildlife website and social media channels in my "spare time"), and escaping for an hour or two and getting closer to nature usually re-envigorates me.
