I'm trying to decide if I should have the sequel of my novel take place in Japan or Kyrgyzstan . I know Japan well and lived there for 3 years. I know nothing about Kyrgyzstan. What do you think?
Steve Goldsmith My opinion? Go with what you don't know. Do the research to get the sensory and cultural elements of the latter mapped into your brain. Then (maybe) draw parallels with Japan and other places that you have deep knowledge of. I bet the writing would be stronger!
