(view spoiler)[Kitty Charing and Freddy Standen from Georgette Heyer's Cotillion by a mile. Freddy is my favourite hero of all time, because he's such a sweet, normal man - he's fashionable and kind, doesn't excel at anything but understands the world he inhabits in a way everyone else underestimates.
Kitty is such a sweet character, too - she fancies herself in love with a rake, but over the course of the book you watch her slowly come to the realisation that in reality, it's far better to fall in love with a true friend.
Neither of them are bright, brilliant, special, or any of the other things that usually characterise heroes and heroines. That's probably why I love them so much as a couple - they are utterly believable.

For The Foolish Friend, I wanted to write a story about two characters who had been close to each other since childhood. However Henrietta and James weren't the first characters to present themselves - the supporting cast were fully formed from very early on (and don't worry, most will get books of their own!)

I don't have writer's block as the ideas never stop coming, but what I can have if I'm not careful is burnout. I manage it by giving myself scheduled breaks from writing and ensuring I make time to read and game.

I'm working on the third book in the Regency Romps Novella series, The Rebel Wife, which is about the Earl and Countess of Lexborough. The Earl has been off abroad in the ten years since the couple had a marriage of convenience, leaving the Countess to fend for herself. Now he's back and seems to be under the impression that he can set her aside like an unappreciated ornament. Unfortunately for the Earl, his wife has grown into a self-assured woman who has a mind and heart of her own.
In the background, I've also got book four - A Novel Miss - drafted out, where Lady Cordelia and Miss Manning will make their return.
