I've always, from about the age of 18 or so, wanted to communicate knowledge - that's why I became a teacher. All the topics I have written about over the last three decades - photography, electronics, cars, etc - have been about communicating understandings and knowledge.

Start writing. The more you write, and the more feedback you receive on that writing, the better your writing is likely to be.

I never get it! If you, as a writer, work out the key points you want to communicate *before* you start to write, then it's much easier to avoid writer's block.
