I have always wanted to write and I have a lot more ideas than I can ever hope to use. I write when I can find time - usually if there is a rare quiet moment in the house or in the evening when everyone is asleep!

My next book is about a young girl who develops superpowers! Stacey Robinson is a ten year old girl who is bullied a little at school and has a nasty step-father at home. She loves to draw and this is how she discovers her powers, she sketches them!
At first, Stacey does not want the powers, she is already different and is worried that she may hurt someone - even if they deserve it.
Then, she meets a real life villain and must learn to harness her powers to save everyone she loves.

Writing is difficult and lonely. Perseverance is the most important tool a writer can have. You must continue no matter what. Perseverance is more important than talent, spelling and even story ideas. Be prepared for people to be judgemental and even condescending but never give up.

The best thing about being a children's author is that I get to visit schools - where I can share my love of stories with my target audience. Children ask the best questions and it's always a lot of fun. Children are the reason I write and being able to talk directly with my audience is the most rewarding experience.
