I don't really have a favourite fictional couple as I mostly read crime fiction (!) and biographies/non fiction, but I did think that PI Kinsey Millhone (Sue Grafton's alphabet series) and her lover and fellow PI (Robert) Dietz made a good team. They've lost touch and were perhaps too similar to be a permanent match but they did have something.

By stories that intrigue me - it might be something I've read or heard or seen - and because many of my pieces have a historical element then learning about the history of, say, a house can then lead to an idea. Ideas are great but the hard work comes in putting those ideas into a structure and then onto paper - or, more accurately, a computer!
