How do you deal with writer’s block?

Harley Brooks I write a scene from the opposing character's point of view. If I'm a total blank, I just start writing anything, not related to any work in progress - can start "I can't think of anything to write" and continue non-stop for 15 minutes. Best for me is look out my window and pick one thing to describe - a tree branch - certain brick in the wall - or the sky.
