K. R. Hill After a funeral, I was sitting at the table eating, and across the room in a full-length mirror, I saw the dead woman for a moment. I was alone in the house.
K. R. Hill Without a doubt, I would go to the fictional world of The Alexandria Quartet. I fell in love with the character Justine, and would like to throw heaps of romance her way.
K. R. Hill I'm feverishly writing to finish book 3 (Game of Bones) of the Templar Map Series, and have another novel in the works as well. That means my reading is limited. I have to be very careful about what I read while creating a book of my own or my writing style begins to take on characteristics of the prose which I am reading. Oops.
K. R. Hill My grandma once showed me a newspaper article about how she had jumped from the 3rd floor of a burning building with an infant in her arms, landed on the hood of a model T, and had sustained only bruises. She said she prayed before she jumped, and as she fell with her baby in her arms, she felt loving arms wrap around her and lower her to the Ford.
K. R. Hill Hello Samuel! Thanks for asking. It is coming soon. My editor is shouting at me to finish the manuscript too. It has more action than the first book, so I hope you will like it.

K. R. Hill I spent 6 months in an abandoned house on the Caribbean, in a tiny Mayan village. While there I noticed that all across the Yucatan peninsula you find little house shrines built for a mythological creature known as the Alux. Then I discovered that one of the asteroids that ended the dinosaurs hit the northern tip of Yucatan. Of course I had to ask the question: what is that asteroid was inhabited?
K. R. Hill Sometimes I pretend I am telling an old friend a story. Sometimes the inspiration comes later, like a person walking toward you out of the mist as you hone and refine.

I find nothing improves my writing like a plot.
K. R. Hill Good writing requires butt glue.
K. R. Hill I go off into my own world and play for hours. It is like a video game. When I meet a challenge I can click and hold my place and come back and confront the dragon again later.
K. R. Hill I exercise. Usually, with the mind in neutral, the tide shifts. I also use the 'shitty first draft' system. I don't worry about anything. I just let the words flow.
K. R. Hill Scientist believe that one of the asteroids that ended the dinosaurs struck the earth on the Northern tip of the Yucatan peninsula. What if the asteroid was inhabited? Locals still build tiny houses as offerings to a creature called an Alux.

I'm now completing a novel set in a Mayan village where I lived in an abandoned house. When an American cop on the Amsterdam police force moves to a tiny village to put his life together, he discovers a series of cult murders.
