Write your story, perfect your story because that work is a direct representation of you. Those who never get published are the ones who quit or walked away.

Music inspires me, alot. I'm a huge country music fan, but that doesn't mean that some of my daughter's pop favorites don't come into play while I'm writing the story to provide character motivation. Also reading some of my favorite authors. And believe it or not, even reading outside my genre helps my creativity by taking me away from what I normally write. It's actually refreshing to read a historical romance (my all time favorite) or even a mystery!
