Rebecca Harris I think about whatever I'm working on when I can't be working on it. I mull over plot points, characters and where they are heading at the moment, overall themes and how they are coming across, etc.

I get a solid plan in my head when I'm away from my computer, where I tend to work most, so when I have time to actually sit and work, I can get through it.

And after that, just write. I like to write in sprints, 20 minutes of nothing else, then take a break. Sometimes it goes slow, and not much happens, but usually, as long as I do it in shifts, I can get some words out.

I don't think of writer's block as being a special thing for writers, though. I have plenty of days when I don't want to go to my day job either, but I have to do it whether I like it or not. So I try and think of writing in that capacity. I try and plan ahead to get around the stuck-in-the-moment stuff, but mostly, it's just getting myself in front of the keyboard and knocking it out.

Don't let the laziness win!
