James R. Vernon Hello Cillian,

Sorry for the late reply! For some reason I was updated that I had a question.

Unfortunately, for the time being, the Bound to the Abyss series is going to remain exclusively on Kindle. As an independent author, I've found that being part of their Kindle Direct program makes me available to more readers then I would find by not being in the program and spreading myself over different sites and formats.

I of course would never say never to releasing the series at a later date, but for now it is going to stay with Amazon exclusively.
James R. Vernon It should be any day now. I approved everything and sent it back to Audible, so its only a matter of them performing their checks and then releasing it. I'll certainly update this answer when it happens!
James R. Vernon Hi Adam,

It's coming along great! Just waiting for the final round of edits back, and then its just a matter of getting it formatted and released. The last stages only take about a week or two so it should be ready soon.
James R. Vernon Yes! I actually the first and second book finished at the same time. It was going to be one story but ended up being too long, so I divided it into two. The second half is in the final round of edits with my editor, so I'm expecting a late August/early September release date.
James R. Vernon Getting to read about people that love your stories, characters, places, and everything else that you've created.
James R. Vernon When I write in general, I just try to think of a character or place that I would like to read about. Then everything grows from there.
James R. Vernon Seek the advice and help of others, and do so with a thick skin. I spent a lot of time disregarding the negative comments of people that I let preview my work. When I actually opened up to criticism (and got a beta reader that wasn't afraid to be brutally honest), my writing improved and so did the story I was trying to tell.
James R. Vernon I never try to force it. If my mind isn't in the right place for a particular story, I'll put it down for a bit. Maybe I'll take a day or two and not right, or I'll work on a short story, or start a new novel all together. I'll try to get the creative juices flowing in whatever way I can.
James R. Vernon At the moment I'm a few chapters in to the third book in my Bound to the Abyss series. The second book is going through the editing process with my amazing editor Josephine Hao of Sound Copy Editing, and my first book in a new series but set in the same world and timeframe of Bound to the Abyss is going through its first round of beta reading. So I have a lot on my plate at the moment!
James R. Vernon My inspiration comes from pretty much everything; movies, books, music, my everyday life and the people I meet. Although I write mainly fantasy stories, I try to pull inspiration from a variety of different genres.
