I do not know yet, but I was considering "The Help", and perhaps re-reading "The Secret Life of Bees"; that was SUCH a good book and I have not read it in several years. I also have never read Stephen King's "IT"; I watched the movie, of course (classic), but the new movie is coming out over the summer and I thought I would like to be able to compare the three.
I also might go lighter and read a couple of detective novels if I can find them. I heard that "Hap and Leonard" was based on a book series, as was "Longmire" and "Hamish Macbeth"; all characters I would love to explore past what television showed me. :)
Just nothing by Nicholas Sparks-- I know he is a good writer, and I admire his work, but his books/movies ALWAYS make me cry, so I have to take a break from that.

Yes, I had actually written five chapters of it, when the thumb drive it was on got damaged and I lost it, and two other ideas I had been working on. That was very discouraging, and I stopped writing for a while, as I had started homeschooling. I had been thinking about trying to restart the sequel this summer, actually, when I would have more time, if there would be interest still ..

In MY life? Hmmm... Not really one I can think of... I live in the same small town I grew up in, and I am a stay-at-home Mom who homeschools... No real "mysteries" ever happen around here...

Classically, Lois Lane and Clark Kent. I just love their dynamic.

We were without power for almost a month during the Ice Storm in February, 2014, and we had to travel to different places to stay just to have power and keep warm. Before that, I had been learning about dehydrating and long-term food storage, and realized that while we lost everything in the refrigerator, we had NOT lost any of the dry or canned goods, so that saved us a lot of money. And cooking without electricity can be very difficult to learn, as well as finding ways to cook MREs, dehydrated, canned and freeze-dried foods in a way that is actually tasty. And, my husband constantly makes jokes about the Zombie Apocalypse; thus, my book was born.

Many, many different ways. Sometimes I get a spark off of something I've enjoyed watching, listening to a song, or just something someone said to me. But, quite often, the bulk of my ideas comes from actual dreams I've had.

I am currently working on a Tarzan and Jane novel, and have just finished a survival cookbook, which will come out around mid-January or early February.

Develop a VERY thick skin, never give up on your passion, and never stop trying to improve your craft or yourself.

Allowing others to peek into your imagination.

Writer's block can be extremely frustrating. Sometimes I take myself away from that particular project and put it on hiatus until I can "un-knot the story kinks" or I relax and try reading classics or old movies to get the spark of inspiration back. (Not taking ideas directly from those things, of course-- but something inspirational can always spark your own imagination.)
