Your books so far have been really good and realistic! Would you ever consider branching into darker themes and writing about rape, abuse etc etc?
Julie Murphy Thank you so much! I have no current plans, but I will always write about things that girls interact with on a daily basis. Sometimes those things are unfortunately various types of abuse and even rape. Like I said, no current plans, but that doesn't mean never.

What inspired you to write Dumplin'?
Julie Murphy Lots of things, but mostly growing up fat and knowing that there was more to being a fat girl than what we traditionally see in movies and books.

Not so much a question I guess, but what an opportunity to reach out and tell you Dumplin' was both kick ass and life changing. Thank you for making it happen, it is by and far one of the best things I've ever read. This book was empowering, uplifting and inspiring, thank you for putting it in words <3 *My question must contain a question mark. Here's a question, why are you so awesome?

Hey Julie! I was at the North Texas Teen Book Festival this past weekend (so AWESOME!) and before that I was a book festival virgin and I am now hooked! Do you know of any other book festivals/author panels that happen in the North Texas area? Or where I might go to find out about events like that? Thanks ;)
