I woke up one morning with the beginnings of a short story rattling around in my head. I wrote that down. For several weeks I kept adding a little each day. When the manuscript topped eighty pages, I knew this wasn't a short story. It is a novel. One year later the first draft of Fireweed was completed. Most of the ideas and characters in Fireweed are based on my life exxperience.
