I'd love to see all of the books done that way eventually, Susan. Right now only 'Red Sky at Morning' has an audiobook version, read by the fine voice actor Jack de Golia. I really enjoyed hearing his interpretation of the story. Thanks for asking!

The premise came as a suggestion from my wife. We were watching a documentary on the Soviet Union. An image flashed on the screen, and she said, 'you should work that in to the next book.' As I researched the topic, it became very clear that this would be the ideal foundation for book four.

Inspiration wells up from inside, based on what I read about current events. Those are the best sources for stories, at least for me. Personal experiences also play a big part. Most of the places in my books are locales that I have visited at one time or another.

Right now I'm working on the prologue of the fourth book in the Michael Neill Adventure series. I'll be sharing the title soon. I have a historical/romance novel in the back of my mind, set in Europe during the early part of the 20th century. The idea for that was born during trips to Germany and France with the military.

Know your genre, read constantly, and write every chance you get.

Creating new worlds and characters, telling a story, and taking readers to places they might not ever experience in real life. If I can do all those things, I feel like I've done justice to my readers.

I rarely experience this. In my case, I simply start writing. That doesn't mean that it's necessarily good. In those instances, I come back to what I've written and give it more thought.
