Bud Smith armpit. Goodreads is making me elaborate. But, yeah, armpit.
Bud Smith My dad and I are both named Gary. So he called me Bud from day one. And then everybody else did. Where I work, people all have nicknames, there's a Spike and a Weasel and a guy we call TKO, but at work they call me Gary. So, that's my nickname at work. Gary.

Bud Smith I used to write stories based off things I read in the Weird But True section of the newspaper. Now I write anything that I think I'll enjoy writing. I don't get stuck when I enjoy it. Trick is to figure out what you really want to work on. Mostly, I juggle three or four projects and just nip at each one in spurts. Gets there eventually.
Bud Smith Be crazier in your writing. Way too many writers hold back or some editor has sucked the crazy out of their work. I can always tell when a writer is pretending to be a businessman or businesswoman instead of a psychopath artist. Aspiring writers: become psychopath artists please, all of you.
Bud Smith I keep it light, I never look at is an "ends to a means" It's my replacement for TV. It's my replacement for walking a dog or watering the houseplants or mowing the lawn. I get inspired by writing because I don't have many lucid dreams when I sleep, I just lay there and I blink and it's all black and I wake up feeling cheated. So, I guess I write to make myself some dreams. Haha, airbrush that on a jean jacket.
Bud Smith F-250 is a novel that is 1/2 based off events I lived through and the other half is based off events that killed me.
