Anna Andrews Move on to a part of the book you DO know what happens. Sometimes I know a dramatic scene that has to happen and when writer's block hits I write that scene no matter where I am in the story. It tells me where I need the story to go to lead to that scene and gives momentum to what comes afterwards. It is usually enough to get the juices flowing.
I am a bad procrastinator but I know for sure that the cure to writer's block is to keep on writing.
Anna Andrews I am at the early stage of what I hope can be a long series. I've scoped out the back story, I know the title and I know the main characters. I've been letting the idea sit with me for a while to get the story to build, but I've written the first chapter but I need to get the rest down on paper. If it doesn't turn out to be a standalone I'd love the characters to go on more adventures.
Anna Andrews A dream. It wasn't quite the end result you see in my novella 'Home' but the dream had the characters and the essence of the story. I was an observer in the dream which is unusual I think.
I used the dream for a writing assignment but I realised I wouldn't be happy if I didn't get the whole story out, so that's what I did.
