I walk away from the story and do something creatively different. I like to scrapbook, so I'll work on that for a little bit while the characters and story mull around in my head. It usually works. I do other volunteer things that uses the creative side of my brain and again, this let's the story stew for awhile and brings me back to the keyboard.
