My summer reading list includes historical romances by Lisa Kleypas and Christina Dodd. I love Lisa Kleypas' Wallflowers Series and Christina Dodd's The Princess Series. Old favorites and great romances.

My favorite fictional couple would have to be Derek Craven and Sara Fielding from Lisa Kleypas' Dreaming of You. He is a rake, through and through, a bad boy, a tortured hero who believes he's not worthy of love, that anything and anyone can be bought. Sara is an innocent but not completely naïve. She sticks by her morals and wins him over with her unwavering conviction. I was so happy and excited that I had the chance to meet Lisa Kleypas, letting her know that these two characters' love story is my favorite :).

My advice is to write, write, write. Write what you love. Write what brings out the hidden emotions inside you. Don't strive to be perfect or conform a written work to what the "latest" is. Perfection and conforming can stifle creativity. Listen to your body. Writing can take a physical and emotional toll on the body. Take a break. Move around. Live the real life. That is how ideas form to later be transcribed into YOUR story.
