Ginger Marcinkowski I am inspired by the life that goes on around me. Nothing gets the creative juices flowing more than the simple things in life. My humor comes from using my own mistakes to liven a character and my sorrow comes from the things that have broken me.
Ginger Marcinkowski I used to have a difficult time off and on until I started saving buttons like my grandparent's did. Now, when I can't think of anything to write, I stop, pull out my old tin can, close my eyes and run my fingers through the buttons, letting them click against the sides of the tin. It is amazing what comes out of those moments!

Ginger Marcinkowski The Button Legacy: Emily's Inheritance came about because of the harsh reality of my first dark novel, Run, River Currents, a story based on a real abuse event in my life. My wonderful editor, Lori Higham, suggested that I might look for a good memory from that time to soften the message of that book and allow my readers to understand that I had long ago forgiven and forgotten. The memory came easily to me, as my grandparent's were a godly influence to me during my youth. I remember well the button box that sat on the top of their old oak hutch. When it rained, they often let us bring it down and pull buttons from it. They relayed many stories of faith through each button. I never realized the impact it had on my life until I began to write The Button Legacy: Emily's Inheritance.
Ginger Marcinkowski I am working on a new cozy mystery series based on a group of travel agents. Each story will travel to a different destination, have a different mystery to be solved and feature one of the agents from the First Bank Travel Agency. It is light-hearted and clean, meaning no foul language, romance, but not sex, and highlighting each character's good choices, not failures. Each title will be different, but each will be part of The Travel Girl's Mystery Series.
