Stacey Logan I have been fortunate to have had limited experience with writers block. On days that I am a little less inspired than usual, I focus on meeting my word quota for the day and little more (probably the reason I always exceed my total word count by over 20,000 words!) I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter what you put on paper, as long as you don't break the momentum. You can write around in circles and achieve nothing - but that's what the editing process is for and you never know; amidst all the fumbling and drivel, there might just be a nugget in there that will ease the blockage for tomorrow!
Stacey Logan I LOVE WRITING! There is nothing better than waking up in the morning and thinking "YES! It's time to go to work!" It is difficult and can be challenging but that's what makes it so much fun!
Stacey Logan The most important advice I can give aspiring writers is; if it is in your heart to write; then write. People will always tell you what you can't do but only you can know if they're right. Take criticism as it is meant to be taken and us it as a tool to improve your work and remember, if a reader ever tells you they didn't understand something, don't explain it to them, revise how you've written it and make it so no one else ever has to ask the question.
Stacey Logan My current project is a convoluted slant on a High Fantasy story that consists of potentially 5 separate series' (each containing approximately 5 books). I'm not certain how involved it will become as I've only just begun but it has the potential to be quite a large. One book has been released, the next is on it's way and should arrive before Christmas 2014.
Stacey Logan For me, inspiration is everywhere. Mostly I live a quiet life and spend many hours a day just thinking - boring I know - but it leads to all sorts of ideas and when I do get out and about, I tend to see the little things, interactions between people that, however small, give me the basis for character development; and then my imagination takes over and kind of stretches the one moment into a series of events that may surround that kind of behaviour and the ideas abound!
Stacey Logan When I was a teenager, I started reading Raymond E Feist's books. As soon as I'd finished giving my best friend the full 16 hour run down of Magician, I started coming up with ideas for my own High Fantasy novel. It's changed many times over the last almost twenty years but the basis is still the same.
