Matt Ziselman The best thing, by far, about being a writer is that when you're sitting in front of that keyboard, you are calling all of the shots. There's nobody telling you what to write or how to go about writing it. You're free to do whatever you want...at least until your editor gets a hold of it.
Matt Ziselman I'm working on my second memoir and it has absolutely nothing to do with Dachshunds, dogs or other animals. It chronicles the time my family spent the summer of 1973 at a bungalow colony in upstate New York. Think a poor, Jewish man's version of Dirty Dancing, minus the dancing, but with more dirt. I'm hoping to have a first draft completed by September 2014.
Matt Ziselman Don't wait for inspiration. Writing is work - plain and simple. And you can't write anything without sitting down and putting in the time and effort.
