When I asked myself, "Why do you love hip-hop so much?" I realized that my answer wasn't exclusively focused on the music or art. I loved that hip-hop embraced an ethic of excellence-a pursuit to be the best. As a listener, I was encouraged by hip-hop music to shine in my career, which was outside of the music industry--Im a professor. Through this book, I wanted to explore the professional gifts and wisdom that hip-hop culture has given us outside of music and entertainment.
